In order for your automation system to post Now Playing metadata to your Streaming Transmitter, you will likely need to specify a static IP address for your automation to send to.
NOTE: If you enter an invalid static IP address, you will take your stream offline. If you're not sure what to enter, please contact Futuri VIP Support.
To set this up, make sure your Futuri Transmitter is connected to the same network as your automation system. Note that the transmitter has dual NICs, so if needed, you can connect one ethernet port to your internal automation network and the other to the outside internet.
If your Streaming Transmitter was shipped before Spring 2016, Futuri VIP Support can remotely assign it a static IP address. Simply choose an unused IP on the same network as your automation, and send that (along with the subnet and gateway) to Futuri VIP Support.
If your Streaming Transmitter was shipped in Spring 2016 or later, you can still ask Futuri VIP Support to set a static IP address remotely, or you can set it up on your own, using the instructions below.
Setting up a static IP address directly
Plug in a keyboard and monitor to the back of the Streaming Transmitter, and choose Option 12 for Network Configuration.
Choose the network you'd like to configure. The network that is connected to your automation system is the one you should assign a static IP address.
On the next screen, you'll be asked if you'd like to use DHCP for the chosen network. To configure it for a static IP address, answer "no" to move on to the next screen.
Enter the static IP address you'd like to assign, and your subnet and gateway, and choose "OK" to return to the main menu.
From the main menu, choose Option 10 to reboot the transmitter and bring it back online with the new static IP address. If, for some reason, Option 10 does not cause the transmitter to reboot, you can simply do a hard reset (by unplugging the device, waiting 10 seconds, and plugging it back in).
If the streaming transmitter is not able to connect to the internet once you've configured the static IP address and rebooted, that likely means there was a typo in the configuration. You can repeat the steps above to correct any typos, and, if needed, contact Futuri VIP Support for an appointment with one of our streaming engineers to investigate further.
